Joining the GWS Faculty
As an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary field, GWS benefits from interest and involvement by faculty from across the university. While Core faculty are 100% appointed in GWS and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, GWS offers opportunities for faculty from across the university to formalize their involvement with the program by becoming Affiliated or Standing Faculty.
If you are a current member of the Appalachian faculty and would like to deepen your involvement with GWS, you can familiarize yourself with our program's policies and contact the GWS Director, Emily Lutenski (lutenskies@appstate.edu), for more details.
Affiliated and Standing Faculty appointments are for five-year, renewable terms. Application materials (a letter outlining qualifications and an updated CV) are accepted November 15 for terms beginning in the Spring, and April 15 for terms beginning in the Fall. They are reviewed by the GWS Director and the GWS Steering Committee.
