A 12-credit credential that stands on its own. It's open to both current App State graduate students and new applicants.
A nine-credit add-on for students already in an App State graduate program, built to fit programs with fewer elective hours.
How to Enroll
If you're not currently enrolled in a graduate program at Appalachian State University:
You'll need to apply for admission. Deadlines are Aug. 1 for fall and Nov. 1 for spring. Admission requires:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
A complete application to the Graduate School (Program Code GCERT_146A; CIP Code 05.0207)
A statement of purpose explaining your education, work background, interests and plans, with an emphasis on how GWS coursework will enhance, complement or advance your work or education
Meeting these criteria doesn't guarantee acceptance — final admission is determined by the Graduate School.
If you're already enrolled in a graduate program at App State:
To add the certificate, submit a Request to Add a Program form through the Graduate School.
To add the minor, contact GWS Director Dr. Emily Lutenski at lutenskies@appstate.edu. She can update your program of study.
All prospective students are welcome to contact Dr. Lutenski before applying.
