Spring 2017 Queer Film Series

Hosted by Dr. Kyle Stevens

All films begin at 7 p.m. and will be shown in Room 114 of Belk Library.

Monday, March 6
The Watermelon Woman (1996)
Directed by Cheryl Nunye
A young black lesbian decides to make a documentary about an actress known for playing the stereotypical "mammy" character in the 1930s and '40s.

Tuesday, April 4
The Bubble (2006)
Directed by Eytan Fox
In tumultuous Tel Aviv, two men—one Israeli, one Palestinian — fall in love.

Monday, April 24
Henry Gamble's Birthday Party (2015)
Directed by Stephen Cone, who will be in attendance to speak about the film.
On his 17th birthday, a preacher's son grapples with his sexuality in this coming-of-age story.
